水・油・空気など形の定まらない物質は総称して流体と呼ばれ、私たちの身近には、これら流体のパワー（フルードパワー）を応用した機械システムが数多く存在しています。本研究室では、流体パワーに関する特性や制御方法について、実験やコンピュータを用いたシミュレーションによって検討を加え、新しい応用分野の提案、新しいシステムの開発を目指しています。また、電場や磁場の印可により特性が変化する機能性流体を応用したデバイスの開発にも取り組んでいます。
