数学の一分野であるグラフ理論を研究しています。基礎研究として、鉄道の路線図を抽象化した図形、つまり、点（駅）とそれを結ぶ線（線路）とで構成された図形（路線図）の構造・性質を研究しています。また、応用研究として、グラフ理論を用いてスポーツにおける人の動きを解析する方法を検討しています。
